Terms of Use

1. Who we are, and what you are agreeing to

SpinGlobus is run by Codly s.r.o., Bělehradská 858/23, 120 00 Prague 2, Czech Republic, company ID 19514727, registered at the Municipal Court in Prague, section C, file 387734 (“SpinGlobus”, “we”, “us”).

“The Service” means the SpinGlobus app for iPhone, iPad and Android, the web app at core.spinglobus.com, and albums opened through links at spinglobus.com. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with your data.

If you download the app from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement governs the app software on your device; these Terms govern the Service. If you download it from Google Play, Google Play’s terms apply to the download.

2. Who can use SpinGlobus

You must be at least 15 years old. One account per person, for personal use. Give us a real e-mail address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account — you are responsible for what happens under it. You can sign in with a password, with Google or with Apple. Some things, such as receiving albums shared to your e-mail address, work only once you have confirmed that address.

3. Your content

It is yours. Your photos, albums, diary pages, captions and places (“your content”) remain yours.

The permission we need. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize, display and deliver your content, only as needed to run the Service for you: to show it to you on your devices, to build your atlas and your movie, and to show it to the people you share it with. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, apart from the up-to-30-day period in which deletion completes. We do not sell your content, do not use it for advertising, and do not use it to train AI models.

What we store. A reduced copy of each photo (up to 3,500 pixels on its long edge) with the camera’s metadata removed, plus the date and the coordinates read from the photo. We never keep your original file.

Not a backup. SpinGlobus is a place to tell the story of your photos, not a backup service. Keep your own copies of your originals.

Your responsibility. Add only content you have the right to add. People in your photos — children especially — have rights of their own; share with their consent where it is needed. Locations in photos can reveal where you live or travel; think before you share.

4. Sharing

• Private by default. Nobody sees your chronicle unless you share it.
• By e-mail. We send the person an e-mail with a link. If they have a SpinGlobus account with that confirmed address, the album also appears in their app.
• By link. Anyone who has the link can open the album until it expires or you revoke it. A link can be forwarded, so share it as you would share the photos themselves. You can see how many times a link was opened, never by whom.
• Public albums (web). If you mark an album as public where that option is offered, anyone can find and view it.
• Albums shared with you are for your personal viewing. The owner can stop sharing at any time.

5. Rules

Do not use SpinGlobus to store or share: content that is illegal; sexual content involving minors, or any sexual content of a person who did not consent; content that harasses, threatens or exposes the private life of others; content that infringes other people’s rights; malware, spam or scraping; or anything meant to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the Service or to other people’s content. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules (see section 8).

6. Free use, the free days, and Chronicle

• Free. You can use SpinGlobus for free within the limits shown in the app.
• The free days. From the day you first add a photo or a page, you get 30 days of the whole product, with no card and nothing that converts automatically.
• After the free days. You can still read, share and receive everything. Adding new photos, albums and pages needs Chronicle. Nothing is deleted because you do not subscribe.
• Chronicle is a monthly or yearly subscription. The price and the period are shown before you buy. It renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price then in force, until you cancel.
• Bought in the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google is the seller and processes the payment; their terms govern billing, cancellation and refunds. Cancel in your store’s subscription settings at least 24 hours before the renewal; you keep Chronicle until the end of the period you paid for. Refund requests go to the store.
• Bought on the web. Payment is processed by Stripe. Cancel any time in your account; Chronicle continues to the end of the paid period. Right of withdrawal: within 14 days of your first purchase you may withdraw without giving a reason by writing to [email protected]. Because you asked us to start Chronicle immediately, we refund the price less the share of the period already used. Automatic renewals do not open a new withdrawal period.
• Price changes. We tell you at least 30 days before a renewal at a higher price, and you can cancel before it applies. For store purchases the store asks for your agreement to a price increase under its own rules.
• Photo limits. The free plan and Chronicle each have a limit on the number of photos; the current numbers are shown in the app under Settings → Storage.
• Gifts. Chronicle received as a gift belongs to the account it was redeemed on.
• A plan bought on the web is honoured in the app; a plan bought in a store is managed in that store.

7. Ending your account, or the Service

• By you. Delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → Advanced → Delete account) or on the web (core.spinglobus.com/account). The account is disabled at once, your shared links stop working, and everything is permanently erased within 30 days. Cancel a subscription bought in an app store yourself first — deleting the account does not cancel it.
• By us. We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms or the law, or when the law requires it. We tell you why, and where the problem can be fixed we give you the chance to fix it. We may also end the Service as a whole, with at least 30 days’ notice and time for you to save your content.

8. Reporting content, and what we do about it

If you see content on SpinGlobus that you believe is illegal or breaks these Terms, write to [email protected] with the link and the reason. We review every report and may remove the content or restrict the account, and we inform the person concerned of what we did and why, unless the law prevents it. If we act on your content or your account, we tell you the reason; you can reply to us, and you keep the right to go to court or to an out-of-court dispute body. This address is our point of contact under the EU Digital Services Act.

9. Our things

The app, the web app, the name SpinGlobus, the design and our software belong to us or are licensed to us. You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for the Service. Maps: © CARTO, © OpenStreetMap contributors. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

10. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We keep improving SpinGlobus and may change or retire features. We may change these Terms; if a change matters to you, we tell you in the app or by e-mail at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and delete your account; for a web subscription already paid, cancel and we refund the unused part.

11. Our promises and our limits

We work to keep SpinGlobus available and your content safe, but we cannot promise it will always run without interruption or error. Your content is yours and your responsibility; we do not check it in advance.

We are liable under the law for damage we cause. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for the loss of content you kept no copy of (SpinGlobus is not a backup). If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms limits rights the law gives you that cannot be limited by contract.

12. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Czech law. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country you live in also apply, and you may bring a dispute before the courts of that country. Consumer disputes in the Czech Republic can be taken for out-of-court settlement to the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, www.coi.gov.cz). If a part of these Terms turns out to be invalid, the rest remains in force.
